We love technology but tech has gotten creepy lately. We need to fix that. The creepiness comes from perverse incentives; the current Internet is funded mostly by third parties who want to change the behaviors of users. The result is ever more perverse surveillance/addiction/persuasion algorithms. We CAN turn it around, but we need to overturn some long-held prejudices.
