Fifty years ago, the Whole Earth Catalog came into being, inspiring people through events and publications to take action and try things that might improve their own lives—and the world as well. Twenty-five years later, WIRED was born, and, as technology and access to tools have continued to expand, it carries on the tradition of exploring techno-utopianism. This evening event will celebrate Whole Earth’s half-century anniversary, featuring guest speakers reflecting on the then, now, and the future of Whole Earth-ish topics. After-party to follow!
